Privacy Policy

WispMade LLC ("Stripkin", "we", "us", "our") operates the website at stripkin.com (the "Site"). Stripkin is in a pre-launch waitlist phase: there are no accounts, no payments, and no comic strips yet. The only personal data we hold is the email address you give us if you join the waitlist, along with the limited technical data any website receives. This policy covers exactly that, and it will be replaced with a fuller one before the product opens.

1. Who the Site is for

The Site and the waitlist are for adults aged 18 or over. The Site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us their email address, write to legal@wispmade.com and we will delete it.

2. What we collect

  • Your email address, when you choose to join the waitlist. Nothing on the Site asks for it otherwise.
  • A small amount of data stored with it: a random identifier that acts as your unsubscribe link, which page or campaign you signed up from, the referring URL if your browser sent one, when we sent your confirmation email, and when you signed up.
  • Anything you send us, such as the contents of an email you write to us.
  • Limited technical data, such as your IP address and browser and device type, recorded in our server and content-delivery logs and used to keep the Site available and to block automated abuse.
  • Cookieless analytics: aggregate page views and a single event recording that a waitlist signup happened. Our analytics stores no cookie and no persistent identifier, so it cannot follow you between visits or between sites. See the Cookie Policy.

We do not create accounts, take payments, ask for photographs, or generate anything from your data at this stage. There is nothing else to collect it from.

3. Why we process it

PurposeLegal basis (UK and EU GDPR)
Adding you to the waitlist and emailing you when Stripkin opensConsent
Sending the confirmation email that tells you the signup workedConsent
Keeping the Site available, secure and free of automated abuseLegitimate interests
Aggregate, cookieless analyticsLegitimate interests

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising of any kind, cross-context behavioural or otherwise.

4. Who else sees it

Only service providers who process it on our instructions, in order to run the Site:

ProviderPurposeLocation
Amazon Web ServicesHosting, storage of the waitlist record, server logsUSA
ResendSending the confirmation email and the launch emailUSA
PostHogCookieless product analyticsUSA
CloudflareDNS, content delivery, and verifying that the waitlist form was submitted by a personGlobal

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. If Stripkin is ever sold or merged, your data may transfer with it, and we would tell you before that changed anything about how it is handled.

5. How long we keep it

Your waitlist record is kept until the earlier of two things: you unsubscribe, or Stripkin launches and the waitlist is retired, at which point the store is deleted along with the rest of the pre-launch infrastructure. The waitlist is a temporary appliance with a planned end, not a permanent database.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link. Following it deletes your record outright rather than flagging it as unsubscribed. You can also ask us to delete it by writing to legal@wispmade.com. Server and analytics logs are kept for a short period for security and then age out.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, withdraw your consent, and object to or restrict certain processing. Those rights are available under the UK and EU GDPR, under the CCPA and CPRA in California, and under comparable laws in other US states. Exercise any of them by emailing legal@wispmade.com, and we will not treat you any differently for asking.

Given what we hold, most requests have a short answer: your email address, the date you signed up, and the page you signed up from. If you are in the UK or the EEA and you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Where your data goes

We are a US company and the providers listed above are US-based, so data about you is processed in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the UK or the EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards for that transfer, including the Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. Security

The waitlist store is not publicly readable. The only endpoint that touches it can do exactly two things, add a record or delete one by its unsubscribe identifier, so there is no interface that can list the addresses on it. Confirmation emails contain nothing beyond your own address. No system is perfectly secure, and if something happens that we are required to report, we will tell you and the relevant regulator.

9. What changes when Stripkin launches

The product will turn a short spoken or written account of your day into an illustrated comic strip. That means processing the content of your entries and producing artwork of a recurring cast, and people describe real people, including partners, friends and children. None of that is happening yet and none of it is covered here.

Before the product opens we will publish a fuller privacy policy covering entry content, generated artwork and how long any of it is kept, along with a separate content and likeness policy covering the depiction of real people. The Site says your strips are private by default and we intend the policy to say so in enforceable terms. Nothing in this document gives us any right over data we do not hold.

10. Changes to this policy

We will post any new version here with an updated date. If we change something material about the waitlist, we will say so in an email to the address you gave us.
